Welcome to ALT

Who are we?

ALT is a site developed by the Teaching & Learning team at Harrow Way Community School and a member of the Teacher Development Trust Network. We aim to provide a platform to inspire teaching practitioners through the exploration of the latest developments in education. We believe true continuous professional development grows amongst teachers sharing good practice in a non-judgemental way. We strive to remain at the forefront of curriculum development and whole school innovation.

Triad Programme

Harrow Way Triad programme is currently in its second year and was created to enable teaching professionals to work collaboratively to develop and share best practice. Small groups of 3 teachers, each from different specialist areas are currently working on Action Research projects. Each group focuses on one particular area of action research which is carried out through a number of methods including lesson, observations, lesson studies, meetings, INSET training and personal study.

 

Following the positive feedback received from our initial CPD audit undertaken by the Teacher Development Trust Network we selected two areas of focus which we will address through the Triad programme:

 

• tailoring CPD to individual teachers’ needs

• applying CPD to the needs of specific students
